“The Make-Up of a Man” rocked the house with the kind of response I could have never foreseen. Quite a lot of talk and compliments were being rained upon our modest little film and the crowd reaction at the Top 15 screening was our best ever and well worth the trip alone.

The award we received was Best Comedy in the National Film Challenge 2006 competition where 180+ teams entered films (not all comedies of course), this was only part of the festival which also featured the winners of the 48 Hour Film Projects and HD Showdown competitions where a lot of the great folks we met and partied with were also praised for their great work.

Now this has nothing to do with the Audience Award that we asked everyone to vote online for, that was for a $500 prize. In the end it’s not worth near as much as the genuine recognition the Genre award brought but I still want to thank everyone for putting their time in to go and vote. It’s also worth mentioning that our very own Mike Butler snagged two gold medals in the Trivia and Time Trials categories in the Filmmaker Olympics!

So what is next for us? Well we are on the waiting list for the Philadelphia 48 Hour Film which takes place in 2 weeks but chances are slim that we’ll get in, sadly it filled up extremely fast. But there are 2 possible contests in the summer and the National again in October so we will be working, we may even shoot something for ourselves before the summer so we will keep everyone posted.

Finally congratulations to everyone involved in Dellavision for their hard work and time that made the Drop Deuce Movement “The Make-Up of a Man” possible. We all win……but I get to keep the plaque.

You however get this!

“Salamei!”
